What is that?
At Mampf:athlon you will experience a 3-course dinner in 3 different apartments and get to know 12 new people.
And how exactly does it work?
You and a cooking buddy prepare a dish at your home. Two other cooking teams come to your home for this course, as surprise guests so to speak, and you eat together. For the other two courses, you and your buddy will be guests in two other homes, where other cooking teams will act as hosts and conjure up a meal for you. This means you get to meet four new people for each course (and thus a total of 12 new fellow students in one evening) and can indulge in culinary delights at the same time!
How it works
Registration
You take part in dinner hopping in pairs. Registration takes place online and costs €9. If you would like to register alone, we will draw you a cooking buddy with whom you can prepare a dish. After the registration deadline, participation is no longer possible.
Allocation
After the registration deadline, you will receive an email with a schedule for the evening.
In it you will find out
- The course you prepare as a cooking team (either starter, main course or dessert)
- The contact details of the other hosts.
The evening
You prepare your assigned course in your apartment for you and two other teams. So there are six of you dining together.
For the other courses, you will be guests in two other apartments in your area, where you will meet the hosts and another teasm. Afterwards, it's off to the after-show party.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to be a good cook to take part?
As long as you can cook something edible, you can take part. It doesn't have to be a fancy dish - "3-course meal" doesn't mean 3-star food, so don't let that put you off.
How much space does my home need to be able to take part?
You should have room for 6 people to eat.
I live in Lobeda - can I still take part?
Yeees! As long as there is a public transport connection to your home in the evening, you can take part. Villages around Jena are therefore unfortunately out of the question.
I can't find a cooking buddy. Can I take part on my own?
The event is planned so that there are always teams of two. If you can't find anyone in your area who is up for it, have a look at the Cooking Buddy Exchange. You're sure to find a like-minded person there who is also looking.
Can I also form a cooking team of 3?
Unfortunately, this is not possible because your hosts are expecting a maximum of 6 people and will adjust to this in terms of food and space. If someone else (e.g. a flatmate) is eating with you in your own apartment, this is of course not a problem.
I don't have time after 6 pm. Can I still take part?
It would be good if at least your cooking buddy can come from 6 pm. Otherwise, after your starter teams have been allocated, write that you will be coming later so that they don't have to wait for you.
I have a dietary restriction. Can I still take part?
When registering, you can indicate any dietary restrictions you have (e.g. allergies, intolerances, no animal products, etc.). Your host teams will receive this information before the event and will take it into account when planning the food. It is therefore important that you write down exactly what the food should NOT contain, especially in the case of allergies.
What is this afterparty?
After you have eaten all 3 courses, you will have the opportunity to meet all the cooking teams from your evening again at one of the cooking teams' homes.
Cooking Buddy Exchange
You want to join in, but you're still missing your second team member? We have set up a chat room where you can write a message saying that you are looking for a team mate. It's best to add whether you can "provide a kitchen".
To the registration
- Are you in the mood for a sociable, culinary evening?
- You have time on Thursday 24.11. from 6 pm?
- Do you have a cooking buddy?
- One of you two has an apartment that can fit 6 people for dinner?
Perfect! Then register now to definitely take part in the Mampf:athlon.
Registration runs until 16.11.24. 11.59 p.m. All teams that register later cannot be guaranteed to take part. If a team drops out up to 4 days before, you have the chance to step in and fill the gap.
